Sri R.L Jalappa hailing from Doddaballapur taluk has spent nearly 54 years in the service of the poor and backward people in various capacities as Co-operative Minister, home Minister and revenue Minister in the Karnataka Government. Later in the Union Ministry at Delhi, he was cabinet Minister for Textiles. He has been a member of parliament for three consecutive terms.
He founded Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust in 1985 with a vision to provide education to the rural mass. Having started the medical college at Kolar, in the year 1986 and an Engineering college at Doddaballapur, in the year 2001, he felt the need to provide technical education. To fulfill this vision, R L Jalappa Polytechnic was established in the year 2016.
To create a complete human being, who is humane, educated and healthy, requires perseverance, dedication and skill. We, at R L Jalappa Polytechnic is in total concurrence with this philosophy.
